1000%. Wholly accurate in content and description. It doesn't make me feel better to have it all so well written and yet it does. I beg you, not for the first time, send this minus the expletives to the National Post or the Globe and Mail.

Yes! When will we stop sacrificing the children? Why does no one care?

You hit the nail on the head with this one. I’ve repeatedly told people that if Ford, Elliot or Lecce came to my house for even just one day of online learning they would have realized instantaneously what a ridiculous thing they had done. Perhaps it’s time for the mother’s to start marching in the streets? All the mothers need to March in all of the streets until someone puts a stop to this.

The piece about your child in speech therapy sent waves of rage down my spine... because it just triggered memories of nearly two years of this IDIOCY at the cost of not only children, but children with complex medical or educational needs. One of my children was diagnosed with dyslexia in November of 2019 and was already 2+ grade levels behind in reading from peers. We faced school strikes which turned into Covid school shut-down and basically no interventions geared towards what this child needed. How could teachers pivot to teaching a child with ADHD and dyslexia -- for whom screens activate hyperactivity -- solely online? It was the most stressful, exhausting, depressing period of my life as a mother. And I am absolutely dreading January, because I have so little confidence we can expect schools to remain open.

I took another one of my children in to the doctor just last week because this child has been dealing with some anxiety, and a med student was in training at our doctor's office. He said in his last round of hospital assignments, he was seeing much younger children with much more terrifying mental health crises. "The real pandemic is a pediatric mental health crisis." But policy makers do not give the SLIGHTEST damn about that.

You are rigbt. There is no logic or science about this. First, fear was/is fed to the people daily, hourly, and then when the people are freaked out and terrified of everything and especially the kids, the government listens to the the people whose fear was bred by the the government and media, and does this to the kida. Deplorable.
